Fortuna's forward line is rented. Three loans — Zeefuik, Romeny and Descotte — replace 17 goals and 10 assists of departed output whose combined recent Eredivisie return was well below that. The falsifiable prediction was a lower and slower goal return than 2025/26's 49 goals in 34 matches would imply, roughly 1.44 per match. That has not happened: Fortuna have scored five in two, and two of the five came from the loan players this reading names as the risk. The hypothesis is weakened rather than resolved, and the reason matters — two matches is a small sample, and the goals came from a finishing return above the underlying chance quality, which is not treated here as repeatable.
